Terms of Service

The short version

Exhibit Tea is operated by Mulvey Labs LLC (“we,” “us,” or “Mulvey Labs”), a Missouri limited liability company. By creating an account or using Exhibit Tea, you agree to these terms. Use it respectfully, don’t use it to harass or endanger anyone, remember that AI-generated summaries can be wrong, and understand that we aren’t responsible for what other members post. If any of that doesn’t work for you, please don’t use Exhibit Tea.

Who can use Exhibit Tea

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By using Exhibit Tea, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that everything you tell us about yourself (like your email address) is accurate. You’re responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. We may close accounts we believe belong to someone under 18.

What Exhibit Tea is

Exhibit Tea is a private space for small, invite-only circles to follow true-crime cases together — collecting sources, discussing them, and using AI features (case summaries, claim extraction, and Ask Exhibit Tea) built on Anthropic’s Claude models to help organize that material. It is a tool for discussion and organization, not an investigative service, a news outlet, or a substitute for law enforcement, journalism, or legal advice.

Content you and your circle post

You keep ownership of what you post — sources, notes, comments, and questions. By posting it, you give us the license we need to store it, process it (including sending it to Anthropic’s API to generate summaries and answers, and to run web research when your circle turns it on), and display it to the other members of your circle, for as long as your content stays on Exhibit Tea, and to keep copies where needed for safety reports or legal reasons, as described in our Privacy Policy.

You’re solely responsible for what you post. Don’t post anything you don’t have the right to share, anything defamatory, anything intended to harass, threaten, or endanger a real person, or anything that violates someone else’s privacy beyond what’s already publicly reported. True-crime cases involve real people — victims, families, suspects, and the wrongly accused — and circles discussing theories should stay grounded in what the material actually supports, not treat speculation as fact.

AI-generated content

Case summaries, extracted claims, and Ask Exhibit Tea answers are generated by AI based on what your circle has added (and, when a case’s research setting is on, outside web sources). We ask the AI to cite back to real material, but AI-generated content can still be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Don’t treat it as verified fact, and don’t rely on it for legal, safety, or investigative decisions. AI content is not a statement of fact by Mulvey Labs. Check the original source before relying on it.

Circle opinions

Members can say whether they find a source credible. These answers are the members’ own opinions of a source, shown to the circle and summarized by the AI as such. They are not findings of fact, they are not evidence, and they are never a verdict about whether any person is guilty, innocent or responsible for anything. Don’t use them as one.

Subscriptions

Free starter circle. Each member can create one free starter circle with a one-time allowance of AI reading and Ask answers (currently 3 sources and 5 answers). Other circles need a paid plan before the AI reads sources or answers questions in them.

Exhibit Tea Circle. A subscription bought in the iPhone app covers one circle (up to 15 members) and includes up to 25 sources and 50 Ask Exhibit Tea answers each month, including on yearly plans. It costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year in the US; local prices and taxes may differ. The person who buys it pays; the circle’s other members do not.

Billing and renewal. Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase. A subscription renews automatically for the same length unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your Apple ID is charged within 24 hours before that period ends. Manage or cancel it any time in your Apple ID settings. Deleting your Exhibit Tea account does not cancel it.

Refunds and price changes. Apple handles refunds under its own rules, so ask Apple. If we change a price, Apple will tell you in advance and, where its rules or the law require it, ask for your consent before charging the new price.

If a subscription ends. If a renewal payment fails, Apple may retry for a short grace period, and the circle keeps its plan during that time. After a subscription ends, the circle keeps its sources, comments and opinions, but the AI stops reading new sources and answering questions there until another subscription covers it. A starter circle goes back to its free allowance, if any is left.

Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to subscriptions bought through the App Store.

Third-party services

Exhibit Tea shows link details published by other services, including YouTube, X, TikTok, Spotify and Apple Podcasts. That content belongs to its owners and is subject to those services’ terms. By using Exhibit Tea you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service for YouTube content. If you are the owner of content shown in Exhibit Tea and want it removed, email us at the address below.

Reporting, blocking and moderation

Zero tolerance. There is no tolerance on Exhibit Tea for objectionable content or abusive users. Don’t post: threats; harassment or bullying; anyone’s private home address, phone number, workplace, or other details that could be used to find or target them (doxxing); sexual content of any kind involving minors; identifying details about minor victims or witnesses beyond what official sources have published; or content that presents rumors about a real person as established fact. Don’t use circle opinions to rate or vote on people. You can report any content, including the AI’s own summaries and answers, and block any member from within the app. Reports are reviewed by a person at Exhibit Tea. Right now that is one person, so we aim to review each report within 24 hours, with the most serious reports first. That is a goal, not a guarantee. Some reports are first checked by our automated safety check; reports about child sexual exploitation, about false or defamatory claims, and about the AI’s own writing go straight to a person. We may remove content, stop it being used by the AI, or suspend or close accounts that break these rules. We report apparent child sexual exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as federal law requires. If you are named in content on Exhibit Tea and are not a member, you can ask us to review or remove it at exhibittea@gmail.com.

Account termination

You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete account. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, misuse the service, or put other members at risk. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your content when your account is deleted.

No warranty

Exhibit Tea is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don’t guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate or complete.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mulvey Labs LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Exhibit Tea, or for content posted by other members of your circle. Our total liability for any claim relating to Exhibit Tea is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to these terms or Exhibit Tea will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Missouri.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Exhibit Tea changes. If we make a material change, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and if the change affects what we send to AI services, we’ll ask you to agree again. Continuing to use Exhibit Tea after a change means you accept the updated terms.
